Path Of Revelation A.D.26

I completed this work just in time for the tenth anniversary of ‘Path of Revelation’. At first, I tried to create a copy of the old image that was as identical as possible. However, while working on it, I reached a point where I wanted to ‘update’ my previous work and decided on a slightly different look. I chose a different shape for the island and the castle and abandoned the idea of keeping the background and lighting conditions of the old version. No aurora borealis at night, but a sunset with an approaching storm and heavy rain.

The overall composition, and the foreground in particular, still show what the source of inspiration was. The image had been on my to-do list for years because I was never really satisfied with the bridge and castle in the old version. Implementing the scene in 3D now gave me the opportunity to solve the problems I had in the past, especially with the correct perspective.
